This fresco fragment, once part of a larger cycle, was brought back to light during works in a cellar. The author is anonymous, but the style can be compared to that of the artists who frescoed the Baptistery around 1235.

Saint Peter
Saint Peter is depicted in the frame on the right. In one hand he holds the keys, and with the other he blesses Linus with the mitre. This is probably Saint Linus, his successor. Byzantine echoes can be seen in the vestments, particularly in Saint Peter’s robe and in the beaded decoration of the deacon’s habit.
